New! Freez N Release Coated Paper for the meat industry

Dreamworks Coating Solutions announces the introduction of Freez N Release™ coated paper. Eighteen months in development, Freez N Release coated paper provides an environmentally-friendly substitute for corrugators and sheet plants that make curtain-coated wax cartons.

Hugh Duke, business unit manager for Dreamworks Coating Solutions, said the coated paper should be especially attractive to meat packers who want to improve their Wal-Mart sustainability score. “The Freez N Release coating is approved by the Food and Drug Administration for food contact,” Duke said. “What’s even better is that it won’t leave paper fibres on your meat, trimmings or offal. That translates into less downgrading and fewer rejected loads.”

Freez N Release treated paper is also recyclable, so store managers won’t have to worry about incinerating waxed boxes or paying tipping fees to have them hauled to a landfill. Boxes made with Freez N Release coated paper can be baled with the rest of the store’s corrugated recycling.

Makers of corrugated sheets and boxes will find Freez N Release convenient, because the coated stock frees them from messy, on-machine waxing operations.
